WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden still has COVID symptoms, but they have improved meaningfully since Thursday, his doctor said Friday.
Biden’s primary symptoms continue to be a loose cough and hoarseness, his physician, Dr. Kevin C. O’Connor, said in a letter released by the White House.
The president’s pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain normal, O’Connor wrote. His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air, and his lungs remain clear, the doctor said.

Biden’s bloodwork was normal, and his complete blood count showed no anemia or evidence of bacterial infection, O’Connor said. Similarly, his comprehensive metabolic panel demonstrated normal electrolytes, as well as good kidney and liver function.
Biden completed his fourth dose of Paxlovid, which is used to treat COVID, on Friday and “continues to tolerate treatment well,” O’Connor said.
Biden, 81, has been isolating at his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, since testing positive for COVID on Wednesday while in Las Vegas, Nevada. Subsequent testing on Thursday confirmed the presence of the coronavirus, O’Connor wrote.
