B&B’s Matthew Atkinson is Going To Be a Dad!

There’s going to be the cutest little pumpkin joining The Bold & The Beautiful family this fall! Matthew J. Atkinson (Thomas) and his wife, Brytnee, announced that they are expecting their first child!

The parents-to-be shared their exciting news in a joint Instagram post that featured two beautiful photos. In the first shot, the couple are facing each other, eyes closed and foreheads touching, with smiles on their faces. He’s holding his wife’s hand as she is lovingly cradling her baby bump. The second photo is a solo shot of Brytnee, again cradling her belly, a sweet smile on her face.

“Our next adventure,” read Brytnee’s simple caption. “October 2024.”

Atkinson’s baby news comes about a month after the actor returned to B&B in late June. In storyline, Thomas took his son, Douglas, and left for Paris back in March, but he came back to Los Angeles — and engaged to Paris! — earlier this summer.

In real life, Atkinson and his wife will welcome their little one just shy of their first wedding anniversary. After dating for several years, the actor proposed to his longtime girlfriend last June, and they tied the knot in a beautiful outdoor ceremony on Nov. 8, 2023, in the resort area of Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Atkinson’s soap colleagues were quick to congratulate the actor and his missus on their status change to “parents.” Ashley Jones (Bridget) declared that she was “so excited for y’all,” and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy) shared her happiness for the couple with multiple red heart emojis. Meanwhile, Courtney Hope, who played Sally on B&B before moving over to sister soap The Young & The Restless, confessed that she was “So excited!” about the Atkinsons’ news.
