    Super loads continue to travel through area

    The twelfth of nearly two dozen “super loads” is making its way from a dock on the Ohio River near Manchester in Adams County to New Albany in Licking County. This load, an air processor known as a cold box used in the silicon chip manufacturing process, measures approximately 23’ tall, 20’ wide, 280’ long, and weighs 916,000 pounds.

    The move was scheduled to take more than a week. Stops were made in West Portsmouth, Lucasville and Waverly early in the week.

    On Tuesday the super load started in Scioto County at apprixmately 6 a.m. and traveled through Pike County n the mid morning hours..

    The super load continued its northerly trek on US Route 23 to Piketon where it croosed over into the Southbound lanes at Market Street to maneuver around the traffic signals then cross back over into the Northbound lanes of US Route 23.

    The load stopped for the night at the Waverly Travel Center just north of Wavery.

    The processor made stops in Ross County and Franklin County later in the week, It scheduled to have weekend stops in Groveport and Pickerington, and is scheduled make its last stop in Pataskala, Monday nght, before being delivered on Tuesday, June 25.
