Doran's Farm Market in New Albany recently announced that it will be permanently closing after Thursday, July 18. Until then, the market is offering a 20% off closing sale for all processed and jarred items.

The business has been serving the local community for more than 50 years ago, since Jim Doran began selling fresh produce out of a wagon in his front yard. Since then, the farm has expanded to offer pick-your-own options and a variety of products such as jams, jellies, baked goods, beverages and snacks at its market.

The farm and family will remain on the site on 5462 Babbitt Road and will use the farm for other purposes for now. The business suggested that the farm's doors might be open again one day for the public to enjoy in a different way.

On various social media platforms and on doransfarmmarket.com, the business thanked the community for shared memories:

"This has been our life’s work and we thank you for being there to enjoy it with us," Doran's posted on its website. "It has been an incredible chapter in our lives — onto the next."

    Doran's Farm Market's hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
