DoD Requiring New ID for Retired Military
JULY 22, 2024 – Beginning in 2026, the legacy Uniformed Services Identification (USID) card will no longer be accepted for access to benefits, privileges, or DoD bases. According to the DoD Common Access Card website, USID cards are issued to retired military and Reserve members, dependent family members of uniformed Service members, and other eligible individuals in accordance with DoD policy. On July 31, 2020, the DoD started issuing the Next Generation USID cards at select DoD ID card facilities with a phased implementation for all facilities which was completed in December that year.

Pennsylvania’s Historic Tax Credit Increased to $20 Million
On July 11, the Pennsylvania General Assembly passed its 2024-2025 budget. It was 11 days past the deadline, but offered some good news for historic preservationists and adaptive reuse developers. Harrisburg, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has reported that the tax revenue generated during the combined Fiscal Year 2023-24 has reached a record level of $2.54 billion. Pennsylvania House Leader Wants Trump Shooting Investigated
A Pennsylvania Republican leader thinks the shooting at a Trump rally should be looked into. Pennsylvania House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler is introducing legislation to look into the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, in Butler. House Resolution 501 would form a House Select Committee to investigate the actions and response of state and local law enforcement following the assassination attempt. The bipartisan committee would then produce a report on the incident no later than November 30th. Cutler says the committee will not be looking to assign blame, but rather it seeks to discover how law enforcement can better improve practices going forward.
