    SCIA: Recapping Week 10 action of Whaling City Youth Baseball

    Here's a look at Week 10 action from the Whaling City Youth Baseball League.

    Monday, July 8

    South Coast Towing 15, Table 8 Restaurant 1: Jose Martinez was a one-man wrecking crew for the Tow Company. He went 4-for-4 with three doubles and a home run. Camdyn Messier went 3-for-3, Brayden Oliver knocked in two runs, and Reese Butler chipped in two hits as South Coast rolled to the win. Messier, Brayden Douglas, and Apostolos Tsonis combined to toss a no-hitter and strike out 11 Table 8 hitters.

    Kitchens & Baths 14, LeBeau’s 6: James Reardon tossed a complete game for the Kitchen Crew as he struck out eight LeBeau’s hitters while going the distance to pick up the win. Myles Sequeira led the offense for K&B, going 4-for-4. Ray Rouke, Reardon, Corey Bonds and Nolan Sousa all chipped in as well for Manager Nate Silva. Owen Viera and Jordan Nascimento smacked two hits each for LeBeau’s. A. C. G. 7, Palace Pizza 2: Ludwig Berroa pitched 5 ⅓ innings, striking out 10 Palace Pizza hitters before being relieved by Landon Amaral. The two combined to guide A.C.G. to their fifth win of the season. Berroa and Tony Correia led the offense for Manager Keith Almeida’s squad. Palace Pizza was led by the bat of Nyrell Gonzalez who had two hits. Amaral’s Linguica 13, T.S. Sports 7: Oliver Fleurent had three hits, Jack Fleurent rapped out five hits and drove in three runs, Jayce Cabral, Maverick Andrews, Blake Hallett, and Kayne Espinola all contributed hits for Amaral’s. Cabral and Jack Fleurent combined to scatter three T. S. Sports hits. Yaniel Talavera, Mason Barbosa, and Bobby Seamans had hits for T.S. Sports.

    Tuesday, July 9

    N. B. Fire 11, Tremblay Bus 9: Mike Cesolini reached base three times, scoring twice. J. C. Robles scored twice, Tim Beland had two hits driving in three runs, and Easton Fontes knocked in a run to help the Fire Department to a big win over Tremblay Bus. Tucker Wilcox, Santos Alvarez, and Syncere Lugo had two hits each for the Bus Company. Mike Cesolini picked up the win for N.B. Fire. Manager Jason Cunha’s team picked up their fourth win of the season. Apex Electrical 10, Kitchens & Baths 9: Trailing 7-2 after two complete innings, Apex rallied to earn a hard fought come from behind victory. The Kitchen Crew was led by Myles Sequeira, who had two hits, A. J. Gracie and James Reardon each knocked in two runs as well. Apex answered the early K & B lead with three runs in the third inning powered by an Ethan Dube triple and a Dakota Gamage double. Apex then exploded for six runs in the fourth when Dube doubled in two runs, and Julius DePina knocked in Lucas Santos and Dube to spearhead the comeback. Ruben Vasquez was the winning pitcher for Apex. Dave’s 10, Wonder Bowl 2: Richie Gaskins had two hits, Jaedyn Clark smacked a long three-run home run, Logan Bielski knocked in two runs, as did his brother Brayden to lead Dave’s to the win. Jaedyn Clark was the winning pitcher for Dave’s. Clark struck out 16 Wonder Bowl hitters while scattering two hits. Tanner Cabral hit a first inning home run for Wonder Bowl. DeBross Oil 1, South Coast Towing 0: This was an old-fashioned pitcher’s duel between two of the best pitchers in the league. Jose Martinez tossed a two-hitter for South Coast, while Parker Pacheco matched that with an absolute gem, a no-hitter that if not for a second inning walk would have been his second career perfect game. The lone run of the game came in the top of the fifth inning when DeBross first baseman Jonathan DaSilva cracked a base hit to left field that was misplayed into a three base error allowing DaSilva to score the lone run of the game. With the win DeBross improved to 17-0.

    Wednesday, July 10

    T.S. Sports 6, Palace Pizza 2: Yaniel Talavera and Wesley Rodrigues combined to limit Palace Pizza to four hits. Talavera Carried a big bat for T.S. Sports ripping a fourth inning triple that drove in two runs. Bobby Seamans added a big RBI double in the same inning that proved to be the game winning hit. Liam Cubero once again had a fine game for Palace Pizza checking in with two hits.

    Amaral’s Linguica 12, Table 8 Restaurant 0: Ben Bernardo was the winning pitcher, striking out seven Table 8 hitters. Jack Fleurent and Jayce Cabral had two hits each, Bernardo drove in a run, and Maverick Andrews hits a grand slam inside the park home run to power Amaral’s to another win. Tae Rose and Jonathan Calvao had the lone Table 8 hits. With the win Amaral’s improves to 15-3 and sit alone in second place overall.

    LeBeau’s 4, Wonder Bowl 3: Mason Graveson, Brian DeRosa and Owen Viera combined on the mound for LeBeau’s to earn a hard-fought win. Tatum Barbosa, and Graveson had two hits each, Owen Viera drove in two runs, Landon Madeira, Kayden Souto and Eliana Camacho all contributed offensively toward LeBeau’s win as well. Tucker Torrey had two hits for Wonder Bowl including a sixth inning two-run home run.

    Thursday, July 11

    DeBross Oil 17, A.C.G. 0: Logan Pacheco was red hot as he went 3-for-3 with two home runs and a double that dove in five runs. Pacheco’s offensive outburst spearheaded a thirteen hit attack for DeBross. Max Mutnansky was the winning pitcher for DeBross as he struck out eight A.C.G. hitters and did not allow a hit over his three innings of work on the mound. Ethan Gonsalves had the lone hit for A.C.G. DeBross improves to 18-0 on the season . Dave’s 16, N. B. Fire 0: Richie Gaskins homered and tripled, Sean Pimental scored three times, and Jaxson Bettencourt tallied his first career hit for Dave’s. Pimental pitched a gem, going the distance on the mound and not allowing a hit. With the win, Dave’s records their eighth win of the season.

    Apex Electrical 5, Tremblay Bus 4: Jared Nunes had the game winning hit in the fifth inning when his double plated Dakota Gamage with the eventual game-winning fifth run. Gamage, Ruben Vasquez and Isaiah Figueroa combined on the mound to help Apex capture their 14th win of the season. Tucker Wilcox and Syncere Lugo had two hits each for the Bus Company.
