    Motorcyclist dies after striking semi on US-35

    GREENE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — One person is dead following a crash on U.S. 35.

    All lanes eastbound on U.S. 35 to S. Orchard Lane were closed for several hours as a result.

    OSP troopers received the call minutes after 2:30 a.m. on Friday morning.

    The Dayton Patrol Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) responded to the scene, which involved a semi and a motorcycle.

    The Xenia Post of OSP report the crash occurred as a motorcycle struck the rear of a Freightliner commercial motor vehicle, then laid on its side before striking the concrete barrier of the median.

    Dayton OSP confirmed that the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased following the crash. The driver of the freightliner was not injured in the crash.

    The motorcyclist has been identified as Sean Saulnier, age 38 of New Carlisle

    The Xenia Post is continuing to investigate the crash.
