Dog rescued after spending two weeks in San Juan Mountains
A dog was rescued after spending two weeks alone in the San Juan Mountains near Silverton. According to an article from Fox 31 KDVR, the dog, Konnie, was traveling with its family from Arizona when she went missing on July 4. The family searched, but ultimately decided to return home. On Friday, Jimmy Keene, founder of San Juan Mountain Adventures, rescued the dog several miles from where she was last seen. Konnie's family is one their way to reunite with their pet. San Juan Mountain Adventures is a nonprofit organization that provides outdoor experiences to locals and visitors, according to Fox 31 KDVR. Superior resident receives new flag in honor of military husband
Nearly three years after the Marshall Fire destroyed her home, one woman was able to reclaim something she’d lost. On Friday, longtime Superior resident Gladys Forshee received a new burial flag for her late husband, U.S. Army veteran Larry Forshee. Her original flag was lost in the fire, which destroyed more than 1,000 Superior and Louisville homes on Dec. 30, 2021, and caused more than $2 billion in damage.
