New Castle County Police investigate attempted thefts at local nature trail

New Castle County Police are now investigating the Jack A. Markell Trail after a report of multiple attempted robberies. 76-year-old David Munion was one of the victims of these attempted robberies and says there were two teenagers who tried to steal his bicycle. Munion stated that the robber followed him and began chasing him at one point; thankfully, he was not injured.

New Castle County Police are now advising those who visit the park to follow these safety tips:

Travel with a partner when possible.

Keep your valuables out of sight.

Be cautious of unfamiliar individuals or activities.

If you notice anything suspicious, call 911 immediately.

Try to provide a description that is as detailed as possible.
