Dozens of cats rescued from Caldwell mobile home en route to landfill
CALDWELL, Idaho (CBS2) — An animal hoarding case is stretching shelter and rescue groups thin in the Treasure Valley. Volunteers were called to an abandoned mobile home in Caldwell on Tuesday. About a dozen frightened cats inside were in danger because the mobile home was being hauled to the Canyon County landfill.

Lighter winds and warmer conditions expected today
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — We are waking up to some chilly temperatures on Thursday, but today will still be warmer than Wednesday without the wind chill. Thursday will also be a clear day with little to no clouds expected around the Treasure Valley and much of Idaho. Wind speeds will be lighter than previous days this week, around four to six miles per hour for most of the day.

Near Record Steelhead Run Expected For Idaho-Fishing Starts Sunday
MOSCOW - This fall’s steelhead run into Idaho is expected to be one of the largest on record. Idaho Fish and Game is predicting a record run of 47,000 steelhead to return to the Clearwater River Basin this fall. That would be the largest run of Clearwater steelhead since tracking began.
Shari’s owed Idaho $200,000+ in unpaid sales tax as several locations close
The Idaho State Tax Commission has filed six liens on Shari’s Management Corp of Beaverton – the company that owns local Shari’s restaurants. Shari’s closed three of its Idaho store locations in recent months. This spring, the location on Franklin Rd. in Boise closed to make way for a planned Bank of America branch as BoiseDev first reported. Then, the restaurant in Lewiston closed on Memorial Day, according to Big Country News. Last month, the Shari’s in Idaho Falls closed, as reported by East Idaho News.

My buddy, Mike McFadyen, has a ranch in Camas County. He had clear skies yesterday but woke up this morning to some serious haze. Smokey skies aren’t unusual; in Idaho and the western states. It’s not unusual to see big fires drift smoke from west to east across the continent, but Mike lives more than 140 miles due south of Stanley, the epicenter of the Wapiti Fire.
