Golden Retriever’s 'Emotional Support' Stuffie at Vet Is Giving All the Feels

Doctor visits can be majorly stress-inducing if you don't have the right support system. Luckily for one tiny puppy named Maverick, when he's got his best friend by his side, he can get through anything.

In the most adorable TikTok ever, @imbluethesiberiann shared the simplest hack to making Mav's vet visits a breeze—let him bring his favorite stuffed animal, Lamb Chop. Watch Mav strut his stuff without a care in the world!

In the happy-inducing 16-second video, Maverick joyfully totes his Lamb Chop stuffie in his mouth while walking into the vet's office. He looks up at Mom a time or two, but ultimately his confidence with Lambie by his side is enough to get through this appointment. In the room, he thrashes the toy around, unbothered by whatever may happen in this visit. "He won't go anywhere without it," the words say, and it's clear why—these two were made for each other.

"Everyone needs some emotional support. He’s so adorable!"one person wrote. "Not me crying right now," another said. "Every puppy should have an emotional support Lambie," another added. Of the more than 241k likes and hundreds of comments, many others chimed in to testify that the lamb stuffie is beloved by their dogs, too.

Why Do Dogs Have Favorite Toys?

Dogs like Mav love their stuffies, sometimes to the point nothing can replace that toy if it's damaged, lost, or ruined. Animal Medical of New City explains toy obsession in dogs can happen for a variety of reasons. For instance, when a dog brings you a toy when you arrive home from work, it's likely because they associate something good (play or fun) with that toy. You've given it meaning, so day after day, they learn to do this every time if it results in playtime.

Another reason your dog may prefer one toy over another depends on your pup's personality and history. Dogs naturally gravitate toward toys that make them feel at ease, so if they're carrying it, chewing on it, or snuggling with a specific toy, it's because it calms them in some way. It's the same thing humans do with comfort objects like blankets or favorite sweatshirts. So, if your dog has a favorite toy, let them!

Maverick may never dread going to the vet if his beloved stuffie is always part of the deal. If only the rest of us had an emotional support Lamb Chop, the world would be a better place.
