Lightning strikes tree by New City man taking dog outside

A very close call with lightning was caught on camera in New City. It happened Wednesday afternoon when strong storms rolled through the area. Matt Krass says he saw the storm clouds rolling in and wanted to walk his dog before the rain came down. That's when the lightning and thunder came crashing in over him. Bolt of lightning and thunder instantaneously just rang out and we both recoiled and that thunder just reverberated and it seemed to go on forever," Krass recalled.
