Region Self Storage holds ribbon-cutting ceremony for grand opening
On June 18, the locally-owned Region Self Storage held a ribbon-cutting for its grand opening at its over 13 acre complex in Merrillville. This all-new complex was designed and built by the Griffith-based contractor firm Cambridge Companies. Region Self Storage stakeholders and members of the Hobart Chamber of Commerce were present for this momentous event. After the ribbon cutting was complete, attendees were given a tour of the Region Self Storage complex, beating the heat with cold Gatorade and water. For Cambridge Companies President and Partner Jeffrey Eriks, who is also a partner in Clay Street Development and Region Self Storage, the grand opening is a much-anticipated milestone in a lengthy process.

Sharon Kay Huffman was born December 21, 1941, in Hobart, OK to Raymond and Louise Heiney. After a long battle with Parkinson’s, Sharon received complete healing on June 18, 2024. She met Ron, the love of her life, in 1956 at Portland Avenue Baptist Church in Oklahoma City where she swept him off his feet. They were married there on June 15, 1959 and celebrated 65 amazing years together. They were excited to start their life together and looked forward to starting a family.
