Cordell’s graduating class of 1984 celebrated their 40th Class Reunion on Saturday, June 29th. They met at the Colcord Hotel in Oklahoma City. A great time was had by all attending. Betty Corene Broadus
Betty Corene Broadus, 90, stepped into the gates of Heaven on July 3, 2024, in Oklahoma City. The daughter of Elmer and Velma (Stephens) Block, she was born on August 17, 1933, in Gotebo. The family then moved to a farm northeast of Roosevelt. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, where she was elected FFA Queen, in 1951, she began her banking career at First National Bank in Hobart in 1951. She married Bobby Hugh Williams on December 14, 1951. They welcomed two daughters, Gayle Ann and Janet Elaine, and established a home in Oklahoma City before divorcing. Decades later, she still claimed that Bob was the best dancer she had ever known.
