Wheeling, W. Va. - It was a big year in the pool for the Wheeling University Men's and Women's Swimming teams, with both programs continuing their growth under Head Coach Cory Kephart. That big year continued into the classroom as the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of American (CSCAA) released their annual Spring Scholar All-America Teams. West Virginia Basketball: Why Tucker DeVries is the most important team transfer for 2024-25
Things certainly did not go as planned last season at West Virginia. The dismissal of Bob Huggins led to a bit of a lame duck season, as interim coach Josh Eilert led the Mountaineers to a paltry 9-23 record, sitting at the bottom of the Big 12 standings. A few months ago West Virginia found their new leader, bringing Darian DeVries aboard to rejuvenate this program, and he had plenty of work ahead of him.

WATCH: The Big 12’s best bet to end a Heisman Trophy drought
West Virginia has been very clear about this: It would not trade its quarterback for any other and believes others are overlooking Garrett Greene entering his final season. “There's been a lot of talk about Big 12 quarterbacks,” Mountaineer coach Neal Brown said on Wednesday at the conference’s media days. “You don't hear Garrett Greene mentioned. If you look at his numbers -- just put his numbers out there compared to other guys who are getting talked about and you hid their names -- his are really, really favorable."
It’s Time to Retire Pat White’s Number
Pat White checked a ton of boxes during his career at West Virginia. He won a bunch of games, led the Mountaineers to a pair of BCS wins over Georgia and Oklahoma, and set numerous records. He was also named the Big East Offensive Player of the Year in 2006 and 2007. The one box he didn't check? Being named an All-American. Somehow, someway, one of the nation's top quarterbacks at the time never reached All-American status and because of that, he is ineligible for the College Football Hall of Fame. Pretty wanky, don't you think? To make matter's worse,...
