Michigan man to serve a decade in prison for selling dangerous drugs in Mon, Taylor Counties
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A former Detroit resident will serve 10 years in federal prison for selling dangerous drugs in Monongalia and Taylor Counties. A jury found Kalen Daevon Lee, 31, of Detroit, Michigan, guilty of using a motel room in Morgantown to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. Court documents said Lee went by the alias of “Tay” and maintained a storage facility in the area as well.

Parkersburg YMCA appoints new CEO
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - The YMCA of Parkersburg announced they have appointed a new CEO. Benton Walker, from Savannah, Ga., was a program participant in the Coastal Georgia YMCA association. After high school, Walker attended Shaw University, earning a degree in Athletic Training in 2011. In 2016, he received an M.Ed. in Exercise Science Fitness and Wellness from Fairmont State University.
Derek Clark Selected by Los Angeles Angels
West Virginia left-handed pitcher Derek Clark has been drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the ninth round of the 2024 MLB draft. Clark transferred to WVU before last season after beginning his collegiate career at Northwood University (DII). He got a late start to his 2024 campaign due to injury but finished the season with an 8-3 record, 91 strikeouts, four complete games, one complete game shutout across 97.2 innings pitched with a 3.23 ERA.
