WORCESTER, Mass. – On Tuesday, July 16, the City of Worcester, in collaboration with Tremont Development, will officially open the new District 120 apartment complex, marking a significant milestone in local affordable housing development. The ribbon cutting ceremony, set to take place at the former site of Table Talk Pies at 120 Washington St., celebrates the transformation of the historic site into a vibrant residential facility, according to the city of Worcester.

District 120 features 83 mixed-income affordable rental units, including studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments. These units are designated for individuals and families earning at or below 30% and 60% of the area median income, addressing a critical need in the community for accessible housing options.

The ceremony will feature key local and state officials, including Mayor Joseph M. Petty, City Councilor Candy Mero-Carlson, City Manager Eric D. Batista, Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities Secretary Edward M. Augustus Jr., Rich Mazzocchi from Tremont Development, and Nancy McCafferty from the Massachusetts Housing Partnership.

This project is part of a larger initiative to redevelop the four-acre site into a mixed-use area that supports the city's growth and revitalization efforts. The development of District 120 is a step forward in the city's commitment to enhancing livable communities and making Worcester a more inclusive city for all residents.

The public is invited to join the celebration on July 16 at 3:30 p.m. at 120 Washington St., Worcester, to witness the unveiling of this pivotal development in the city’s landscape.
