    PORTSMOUTH, NH – The Portsmouth Police Department celebrated the addition of a new officer to its ranks yesterday, July 23, 2024. Chief Mark Newport officially swore in Officer Brian Doyle during a ceremony at the police headquarters, according to a Portsmouth Police Facebook Post.

    Officer Doyle, originally from Wasilla, Alaska, brings a unique background to the Portsmouth Police, holding a bachelor's degree in Outdoor Studies with a minor in Business Administration from Alaska Pacific University. Prior to his law enforcement career, he worked as a carpenter and personnel manager, showcasing a diverse skill set that the department values highly.

    Having recently relocated to New Hampshire, Officer Doyle is set to commence his formal police training at the NH 198th Full-Time Police Academy starting July 29, 2024. His appointment comes at a time when the department is ramping up efforts to enhance community relations and ensure safety across Portsmouth.

    The Portsmouth Police Department expressed enthusiasm about Doyle's skills and background contributing to their team, anticipating that his unique perspectives and experiences will enhance their service capabilities.
