Rochester Public Library Hosts Presentation on Home Gun Safety

ROCHESTER, NH – The Rochester Public Library invites the community to attend an informative presentation on home gun safety on September 11, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. The event will focus on promoting responsible gun ownership and safe storage practices to help reduce gun-related incidents involving children.

The presentation will highlight the Be SMART campaign, launched in 2015, which encourages a national conversation about secure gun storage to prevent child gun deaths. The Be SMART framework is designed for gun owners and non-gun owners alike, providing clear guidance for parents, caretakers, and community leaders on how to create safer environments for children.

Whether you are a gun owner or simply know someone who owns a gun, this presentation offers valuable insights into practical steps to ensure that firearms are stored safely in homes.
