TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A bear-y hungry animal was caught on camera stealing bird food and snatching the birdfeeder from a home in Maine.

New Gloucester resident, Jeff Meissner, noticed that his bird feeders were torn down and missing earlier this week, so he decided to set up a camera to catch the culprit.

The four-legged thief was busted after he was seen approaching the feeder to snack on some sunflower seeds, clawing and tilting the feeder to eat.

The animal then knocks the feeder down before taking off with the camera in his mouth.

Towards the end of the footage, the bear has the camera upside down in his mouth, walking off with the homeowner’s camera, and with his dinner for the night.

Meissner said the birdfeeder is now back in place.

Black bears breed from May through August, peaking in June and July, according to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife . Bears are known to travel over large areas to increase their chances of finding a mate.
