Groveton Man Arrested on Child Exploitation Charge
CONCORD – A Groveton man was arrested on a complaint charging a federal child exploitation offense, U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announces. Brandon Couture, 38, was charged with one count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. Prohibiting Sanctuary Cities Fails to Pass the House
CONCORD — Senate Democrats implored their colleagues to vote down what they called an “anti-sanctuary cities” bill, and their counterparts in the House did just that. The compromise on House Bill 1292 had been hammered out in a committee of conference and Senate Republicans, as did most House Republicans, backed the plan, saying the state does not want to be an attractive target for illegal immigrants.
House Kills Citizenship Documentation Requirement for Voting
CONCORD – A bill that would set up a new approach to voters who show up at the polls without documentation to prove citizenship was effectively killed by the House Thursday after the Senate passed it along party lines 14-10. Gov. Chris Sununu had said he has questions about the bill and implementation in time for the September primary, but he neither committed to nor voiced opposition to House Bill 1370.
House Kills Education Freedom Account Program Expansion
CONCORD — Expanding the Education Freedom Account failed to graduate from the 2024 legislative session Thursday failing on a 185-168 vote of the House. House and Senate negotiators last week reached agreement on expanding the program that would have increased the income threshold for a family of four by $23,400 beginning next school year.

Ex-Nurse Pleads Guilty to Diverting Fentanyl From a Patient at Catholic Medical Center
CONCORD – A Newbury woman pleaded guilty in federal court in connection to the diversion of dangerous narcotics by medical professionals, U.S. Attorney Jane E. Young announces.
