On Saturday, April 13th, Methodology , the race-slash-method-contest for a good cause, returned to Sierra-at-Tahoe, bringing together boarders of all stripes to make turns, have fun, and raise money for the 43 Institute.

Since Pat Moore founded the Methodology non-profit, events have been held all over North America to raise funding for different beneficiaries. The idea is to directly contribute to local communities, bolstering resources to support grassroots groups.

In February, Methodology headed to Gunstock in New Hampshire where it was hosted by Tyler Davis (Tyler serves on the Methodology board and a textbook method, which makes sense because he moonlights from his time snowboarding as an English teacher). The NH event raised money for the Chill Foundation.

Sierra-at-Tahoe has been a beloved annual stop for Methodology. And it's home for some of the Methodology crew, as well. Pat lives in South Lake Tahoe and board member and Effective Edge co-founder Mike Bettera lives in North Lake. Bettera and Effective Edge produce the events. Methodology is really a community collaboration through and through.

The standings were shared on the Methodology Instagram. Here's the rundown of winners:

13 and Under Girls: Lyla Stubblefield
13 and Under Boys: Jordan Ebright
    14-17 Youth Ladies: Serbia Verduzco
    14-17 Youth Gents: Kai Teteak
    35+ Women: Elizabeth Niotis
    35+ Men: Eric Costa
    Open Women: Lauren White
    Open Men: Jake Langston
    Best Method: Denver Orr

Everyone won custom-made trophies from Effective Edge .

The Sierra stop this year raised money for 43 Institute , the Ken Block Foundation, which seeks to support the next generation in action sports, motorsports, and creative fields through mentorship pathways, creating access, skills development, and improving mental and physical health.
