The brown booby, a bird common in the Caribbean but a rarity to see in the U.S. or Canada, was spotted perching on an old pier on a South Boston beach.

Broken glass forces closing of Crompton Park pool
WORCESTER — The city pool at Crompton Park will be closed until Saturday after pieces of glass were found in the water. Workers will need to drain the pool and search the floor for any glass. Refilling the pool and balancing chemicals will add to the timetable. A clear bottle had apparently been thrown over a fence during hours the pool was closed. There was glass on the pool deck and in the water. Meantime, high temperatures will continue Wednesday, with readings in the 90s, before slight cooling Thursday and Friday, when the 80s return. Former Boston prosecutor sentenced to up to 10 years in prison for rape
BOSTON - Former Boston prosecutor Gary Zerola, who was once named one of People magazine's most eligible bachelors, is heading to prison. He was sentenced Monday to five to ten years after he was convicted of rape last month.Zerola, 52, was found guilty raping a 21-year-old woman after a night of drinking back in 2020. Driver seriously hurt, another facing DWI charge in Hooksett, NH, crash
A man was seriously hurt in a car crash Monday night in Hooksett, New Hampshire, that left the other driver behind bars on a drunken driving charge, police said. Brady Gut, a 31-year-old from Chichester, faces a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated for the crash, which occurred on Hooksett Road about 7:38 p.m. The other driver, a 70-year-old Hooksett man, is expected to survive, Hooksett police said Tuesday.
