Bonnie Gehman opened The Treasure Trove at 6 South 7th Street in Perkasie in 1980 with her friend, Dottie Kapusta, as her partner. Dottie’s husband got the two women started by giving them a loan. Dottie’s parents were longtime collectors of antiques and they helped by contributing numerous items to the fledgling consignment shop. Bonnie and Dottie were able to pay off their loan within the year, and from there the business took off.
