    New Haven gears up for its 2024 Fourth of July fireworks show

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The City of New Haven is gearing up for its 2024 Fourth of July celebration on Thursday.

    The fireworks will be set off from the summit of East Rock Park just after 9 p.m. and will last approximately 25 minutes. The official in-person viewing sites are the athletic fields at Wilbur Cross High School at 181 Mitchell Dr.

    Pre-fireworks festivities, including music, DJs and food trucks, begin at 6 p.m.

    If you don’t want to leave the comfort of your home to watch the city’s fireworks on the Fourth of July, tune in to WCTX Channel 9 or stream it live on WTNH.com around 9:15 p.m.

    The rain date for the fireworks is Friday, July 5.
