    Police: New Haven man found in stream was strangled

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Haven man found dead last week in a stream was strangled, according to police, who are now investigating the death as a homicide.

    The man was found at about 7:10 a.m. Friday facedown in a stream near Hemingway Street by Eastern Street, according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

    He has since been identified as 62-year-old Miguel Rivera. His cause of death has since been ruled a homicide by strangulation.
