NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) – Bulldog wrestling standout, Julianna Ocampo, has just finished her time with Team USA last week, taking home double Gold medals.

Ocampo represented Team USA in the Pan-American games in the U17 and U20 competitions.

The 2024 U20 Pan-Am Wrestling Championships took place in Lima, Peru, from July 11-13, and the U17 championships took place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from June 27-29. Both featured some of Team USA’s best young talent in all three styles: Men’s Freestyle, Women’s Freestyle, and Greco-Roman.

Ocampo placed first for a gold medal in both competitions, and already held a gold medal prior to this from her time competing in 15u.

“It feels amazing,” she said. “It’s definitely one of the biggest things that I’ve done is winning a gold medal. I know it’s just a step closer to what my actual goal is, which is the Olympics, and I feel like getting these gold medals is just telling myself to push even more and more. I mean, even if I didn’t come home with a gold medal, it would still continue to push me.”

Ocampo is entering her senior year and is already chasing her goals to make it back to the podium for her final season.
