Power isn’t everything, but it has been a primary seasonal objective for Ryan Tyranski. Named first-team all-state for his senior season this past spring with Division 1 state runner-up Birmingham Brother Rice, Tyranski is playing his summer ball with the Northwoods League’s Royal Oak Leprechauns. There, the first baseman had aspirations of both adjusting to the next level and driving the ball farther before heading off to Cincinnati this fall.
Port Huron to Mackinac Race comes to an end
Sailboats are crossing the finish line up at Mackinac Island as the 100th Bayview Mackinac Race begins to wind down. The race got off to a slow start, being delayed nearly two hours Saturday due to lack of wind on lower Lake Huron. Wind conditions changed later in the day, giving a boost to some of the larger and faster boats in the race. The first to cross the finish line was Wizard in Class A shortly after 1pm Sunday. The leader for much of the race was Maverick, who also won the Chicago to Mackinac Race, but had to withdraw due to a mast failure. As of Monday morning, much of the fleet was in a line between Mackinac Island and Rogers City. The remaining boats are expected to finish Monday afternoon.

There is no primary competition in District 4 (incumbent Democrat James Avery and Republican challenger John C. Wellington), District 5 (incumbent Republican Shaun Shumaker and Democrat challenger Donna Anderson), District 7 (incumbent Democrat Martin L. Cousineau and Republican challenger Lutullus Penton), and District 1, where incumbent Democrat Delrico J. Loyd has no opponent in the primary or general election.
Lenawee County Fair Happening Today
Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Fair, Michigan’s longest running fair, continues today with many 4-H shows starting at 9 am. Highlights for the day include the Cardio Drumming Demo at the Bandshell at 1 pm; a pie baking contest at 3 pm, also at the bandshell. Activities this evening include Los Hermanos Villegas performing at the bandshell at 6pm and the Figure 8 Car and Truck Demo at the grandstand at 7 pm.

The search is on for a group of suspects who broke into the Warren Stamping Plant and stole brand new Jeep Wagoneers. Authorities believe around 10 juvenile suspects are responsible for the break-in.
