On Friday evening, the Carolina Hurricanes announced the hiring of a former New Jersey Devils front office executive.

After spending the past five seasons in New Jersey, Tyler Dellow accepted the position of assistant general manager to Hurricanes' general manager Eric Tulsky.

"Tyler has an encyclopedic knowledge of hockey data and is both creative and detail-oriented in applying it to building understanding of performance and tactics," said Tulsky . "He is also an attorney with extensive experience in negotiation and a strategic thinker who sees the big picture. Tyler is a strong manager who cares deeply about employee development.

Dellow most recently served as the Devils' senior vice president of hockey strategy and analytics.

In Carolina, his responsibility will include overseeing data analysis and compliance with the NHL's salary cap and collective bargaining agreement.

On August 1, the Devils made their own changes to their front office staff.

Chuck Fletcher joined the organization as Senior Advisor to the President, Hockey Operations and General Manager. Former captain Andy Greene was officially added to the staff as Advisor, Hockey Operations, and Manny Legace has been named Head Amateur Goaltending Scout/Development Coach working with Executive Vice President Martin Brodeur.
