I've had the pleasure of dining at Chef Tan, a delightful Chinese restaurant nestled in Jersey City. The outdoor dining area is a haven of comfort, perfect for enjoying their signature dishes like Mapo tofu, dry pot bamboo shoots, and bacon.
On my visits, I've indulged in a variety of dishes, from the succulent dumplings to the flavorful scallion fried rice, vegetarian beans, and the crispy fried chicken. Each dish was a generous portion, brimming with authentic Chinese flavors. The service could use a touch more attentiveness, but it doesn't overshadow the overall dining experience.
The restaurant also offers a unique dine-in experience with a live pianist setting a soothing ambiance. If you're a fan of spicy food, you're in for a treat as most of their menu features spicy Hunan and Sichuan dishes. I've also tried their take-out service, and while it's convenient, I must say, the dine-in experience is a notch above.
One thing to note, though, is that some dishes can be a bit on the salty side. But don't let that deter you. Chef Tan is a culinary journey worth embarking on, especially if you're a Chinese food enthusiast like me. I'm looking forward to trying more dishes and sharing my experiences with you all. Stay tuned!
