If you're a fan of Korean cuisine, So Kong Dong is a must-visit. The tofu soup here is a standout, and I can confidently say it's probably the best in the New York area. The secret? The beans are ground in a mill shipped all the way from Korea, giving the soup an authentic, irresistible flavor. It's so good that every time I return from a trip, I find myself craving a bowl of their comforting tofu soup.
The BBQ ribs are another must-try. They're so delicious that they'll have you coming back for more. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that they no longer serve LA Short ribs, and it's only BBQ pork now. But don't let that deter you, the food here is still worth a visit.
One thing to note, though, is that they don't allow takeaways for the small side dishes. I found this out the hard way when I tried to take my leftovers home. Also, the portion sizes might seem a bit small for some, but trust me, the flavors are big and bold. So, if you're in the mood for some hearty Korean food, So Kong Dong is the place to be.
