I recently had the pleasure of dining at Faubourg Restaurant and Bar, and let me tell you, it was an experience to remember. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a relaxed environment that's perfect for any occasion, whether it's a casual gathering or a romantic date night. The setting is versatile, offering a park-like chill area, a modern indoor dining hall, and an intimate upstairs space that really sets the mood for a delightful meal.

The food here is nothing short of amazing. Each dish I tried was a celebration of flavors, from the crispy tarte flambée to the orecchiette & lamb ragout that quickly became my favorite despite its distinct taste. The fruit bowl was a sweet start, and while the duck & fig terrine was good, it was the lychee mimosa that caught my attention with its fragrant aroma, although the taste was subtler than expected. The service was excellent throughout the meal, adding to the overall fantastic experience.

The drinks menu was impressive too, with a variety of options that cater to all preferences. The charmante and autumn bliss were particularly noteworthy. And for dessert lovers, the offerings are irresistible – the apple dessert stood out as a must-try. The attentive staff and the manager's personal touch of making rounds to greet guests made the visit even more special. I left Faubourg with a satisfied palate and the intention to return, and I highly recommend you take a stroll in the charming Montclair town after your meal for the perfect ending to a delightful dining experience.

Used to be our go-to place for special occasions. Last time we were there (August, ‘23), the service wasn’t bad—it was downright insulting. Our waiter, whom we’d had as a server previously and left a large tip, ignored us from the start. I mean, actually abandoned us, not even giving us water or menus. He then started waiting on another, much larger group. It was only when a busser noticed us sitting there for awhile that we got any attention, and even then, never had a proper waiter…Really weird. I find the snobby attitude in general off putting—just this sense that you somehow should fit just the right profile—I don’t, young, loud on every level, liable to order too many drinks? The irony is, uh, *rich*, in more ways than you’d imagine. Anyway, this town has many great restaurants. This one isn’t good enough to have this attitude.
