If you're a fan of Taiwanese cuisine, Tiam Tiam is a spot you might want to check out, especially for their traditional snacks. I found myself indulging in the crispy salt and pepper chicken and the classic oyster omelette. They also offer some inventive bites like takoyaki-flavored kale puffs, which are a unique twist but be warned, they can lean towards the greasy side. The bento boxes here are a hit, with the Taiwanese boneless pork chop rice and teriyaki salmon rice getting my thumbs up. However, if you're not a fan of oily food, you might find the fried rice options, like the salmon and three-cup chicken, a bit too much.

During my visit, I noticed that seating can be a bit of a squeeze, so be prepared for that. The popcorn chicken here is a standout and totally authentic, making it a must-try. While the service can be hit or miss during busy times, the food quality generally makes up for it. I've heard rave reviews about their Sunday brunch too, with items like the taro French toast, Taiwanese Bawan, and fried oyster noodle being the talk of the town. And if you're into DIY drinks, there's a free milk tea station that's a nice touch.

Portion sizes here are generous, so if you're dining with a friend, sharing a bento box and an appetizer might just be the perfect amount. While I enjoyed the flavors, I do hope Tiam Tiam can find a way to dial back on the oil a bit. Despite that, it's a place I'd revisit, maybe next time for their brunch to see what the buzz is about!
