Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Tiam Tiam, a spot that's quickly become a neighborhood gem for those in the know. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes that are sure to cater to different tastes, but I must say, their salt and pepper chicken and oyster omelette are a must-try. They also serve a unique octopus-flavored spore cabbage that starts off as a delightful surprise, though it might feel a bit greasy as you continue.
During my visit, I also indulged in their famed popcorn chicken, which was nothing short of authentic. The texture and flavor brought me right back to the streets of Taiwan. Although the place was bustling and seating was limited, the vibrant atmosphere added to the authentic experience. However, a note of caution: their service can be hit or miss during busy times, as I noticed some mix-ups at the register.
For those who enjoy a leisurely brunch, their Sunday offerings are a treat with exclusive items like taro French toast. Despite some dishes being on the oilier side, the overall quality and authenticity of the food make Tiam Tiam a spot worth checking out, especially if you can catch them on a quieter day or opt for delivery.
