KFC testing 'game-changing' new beverages ahead of summer 2024

KFC is set to make a splash this summer with several new additions to its drinks menu . Before the official start of the season, the fast food giant is whetting appetites with a selection of new beverages, all designed to sweeten even the most sweltering of days.

The new drinks all feature KFC's brand-new Tropical Passionfruit Lemonade as their base, which can then be transformed into one of three options for a limited time, according to a discreet update to its menu .

On offer at participating KFC outlets will be the standalone Tropical Passionfruit Lemonade, as well as the Tropical Passionfruit Lemonade mixed with Starry for a hint of lemon-lime fizz, the Tropical Passionfruit Lemonade mixed with Mtn Dew Sweet Lightning, and Tropical Passionfruit Lemonade Iced Tea, which customers can request to be made with Colonel's Sweetened or Unsweetened teas, reports Parade.

Instagram influencer Snackolater , who has amassed over 300K followers on the platform for regularly previewing and testing new fast food menu updates, also unveiled the news online and proclaimed the additions were "upping the fast food beverage game."

KFC's summer 2024 drink lineup has already begun to appear in some stores, and those who haven't yet sampled the new drinks seem quite excited, with one social media user suggesting it "looks so good," and another said it "looks tasty." "Doin anything to be Popeyes," a third quipped.

In addition to the new drinks on offer, KFC is also trialing a tantalizing new menu choice in certain locations. As per the announcement earlier in the week, the Chicken Quesadilla KFC has whipped up is a mouth-watering concoction of "fried chicken, which is shredded in-house and smothered with signature gravy, topped with a melty three-cheese blend, toasted to perfection, and served with your favorite dipping sauce or hot sauce."

For those keen on sampling the chicken quesadilla, it will be popping up on the menus of selected outlets in New York, New Jersey , Connecticut, and Tennessee. Minding that it's a short-term affair, if you're keen as mustard, have a butcher's at the full roll call of KFC spots where it's being put through its paces.
