WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson had no trouble with his latest opponent.

Stevenson successfully defended his title live on ESPN+ Saturday night, besting Artem Harutyunyan. The bout marked the final one on the Top Rank contract for the unbeaten fighter.

With the win, Stevenson moved to 22-0 overall. The native of New Jersey landed twice as many punches as Hartyunyan.

“It’s kind of hard to prove (you’re the best) if you don’t have a fighter trying to fight back,” Stevenson said (thanks to ESPN for the quotes). “He’s just trying to survive.

“I would have wanted him to try a little harder so it could be a more fun fight.”

Stevenson, who recently turned 27 years old, has stepped inside the ring in New Jersey three of his last four fights. He won the vacant WBC lightweight belt last year over Edwin De Los Santos.

Prior to that, he finished Shuichiro Yoshino via TKO in the sixth round.

In other action, 2016 Olympic gold medalist Robson Conceicao bested O’Shaquie Foster via split decision for the WBC super featherweight belt. Keyshawn Davis remained unbeaten with a victory over Miguel Madueno and Abdullah Mason stopped Luis Lebron.
