The pork roll people are losing their minds right now thanks to New York Jets ' cornerback Sauce Gardner.

On Tuesday morning, Gardner tackled the topic of breakfast sandwiches on the social media site now known as X. By the language used in his post, the Jets' CB1 unknowingly thrusted himself into a never-ending debate amongst New Jerseyans.

"taylor ham, egg, & cheese bagels are top 1," said Garner in the X post.

Now, while the people I grew up around called it Taylor Ham based on the premium brand name, there has always been a noticeable segment of my fellow New Jerseyans who will only say "pork roll."

Naturally, Gardner's post triggered those folks, some of whom are Jets' fans. After the pork roll faithful junked into the defensive back's replies, he reposted his original message and added "no offense to the south jersey livers, but "pork roll" sounds unhealthy😂."

On the other side, Gardner earned Garden State credibility from the people who rightfully call it Taylor Ham. He even earned approval from New York Giants' fans.

"You called it Taylor Ham. I may be a Giants fan, but this just elevated you even more lol," said X user @Challenger_ST.

Gardner, a Detroit native who went to school in Cincinnati, lives and works in New Jersey now and the Garden State is clearly rubbing off on him.
