Topwaters are still getting the job done at dawn, with the thick fog banks helping that morning bite last. The sea bass bite has fired up nicely since it reopened, and porgy action is as consistent as ever. Fluke remains solid, and many anglers have continued to report ‘tight bites’ meaning the hot zones have been concentrated and those making short drifts over productive spots within the spot, are doing the most damage.

A 7-foot shark swam uncomfortably close to a Long Island lifeguard paddling just off the shore of Lido Beach on Monday afternoon, forcing the temporary closure of the sandy stretch, local authorities say.



The lifeguard remained calm as a shark’s signature fin surfaced a few feet from his board about 30 yards from shore, said Don Clavin, supervisor of Hempstead.

The toothy beast then swam past the guard without incident, but the 5 p.m. sighting still prompted Lido lifeguards to whistle bathers in from the water and close the beach for roughly an hour.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the search took place on Friday, June 28, at the residence of 28-year-old Shyiem Marquon Banks and 36-year-old Roderick Dion Collins. Investigators discovered a substantial quantity of drugs, including 210 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3.2 pounds of suspected marijuana, 13 grams of suspected alpha-PVP (Flakka/bath salts), over 90 suspected oxycodone tablets, and 2 firearms.
