Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 has been anything but typical. Bravo cemented its bizarre status by confirming the season wouldn’t end with a traditional reunion. On July 17, the network shared that the typical reunion format would be replaced with a RHONJ finale watch party.

A watch party would be one thing. However, this particular watch party would maintain the divides that arguably drove Season 14 into the ground. Teresa Giudice and her posse would watch from one room while Melissa Gorga and her gaggle would watch from another.

The only cast member to make contact with both camps would be Dolores Catania . Reportedly, Dolores switched between both rooms during the rewatch. Fans doubted that this new format could live up to past reunions. Now, one source appears to confirm these doubts.

Teresa and Melissa reportedly won’t “cross paths” at the RHONJ watch party

A source recently spoke with Us Weekly , confirming fans’ worst fears about the reunion replacement . “Teresa and Melissa didn’t talk to each other or cross paths,” the insider shared. They further confirmed that Dolores was indeed the only cast member to float between both rooms. “There was no drama,” the source said plainly.

“It was just the ladies commenting on the episode on camera. It was only about the finale.” Insider commentary about TV production is interesting, hence the many podcasts hosted by reality stars. However, the format doesn’t sound like a suitable reunion replacement.

Consider the typical reasons fans would watch a reunion. In a way, a Housewives reunion almost acts as a season recap. The cast generally rehashes the season’s most important points of drama. These discussions tend to create even more drama. Keeping the cast divided while discussing only the finale sounds like a recipe for boredom.

RHONJ Season 14 continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. The finale rewatch special will air on August 11.

TELL US – DO YOU BELIEVE THE INSIDER? DO YOU THINK THERE’S STILL A CHANCE THAT TRE AND MEL CONFRONT EACH OTHER?
