‘You Cannot Throw Away Your Vote!’ View Hosts Absolutely Floored When Chris Christie Says He’s Not Voting for Trump or Dems

Chris Christie found himself deflecting attacks from all angles on The View after he dared to suggest on Friday that he may not vote for a Republican or a Democrat in November.

Christie joined the View table on Friday to react to Donald Trump’s Republican National Convention speech. Christie, the former governor of New Jersey and now an ABC News contributor, has long been a vocal critic of Trump and he made it clear he has not changed his tune on the former president.

Christie’s criticism of Trump’s talk led to Ana Navarro asking if the Republican will be crossing the political aisle to support a Democratic ticket.

“I know you’re not voting for Trump, would you vote for a Democratic ticket?” Navarro asked.

“Right now, I’m not voting for either. I’m just not. I can’t. One guy is completely mentally incompetent to do the job —” Christie began, setting off loud reactions from Navarro, Joy Behar , and Sunny Hostin .

“But you have to vote!” Behar objected, perhaps forgetting that more than two people run for president every four years.

“I’ll vote down ticket. I don’t have to vote, no,” Christie pushed back.

“You can’t throw away your vote! I asked you the last time you were on, Chris, and you’re going to sit this one out,” Hostin said.

Radio host Charlamagne tha God received a similar backlash on the show when he refused to fully endorse President Joe Biden .

“Don’t you think it’s rich for you to tell the Democrats that they’ve got to get rid of their nominee when you’re not willing to vote for any of their nominees?” Navarro asked Christie.

“Wait a second, you just asked me who I’m voting for now, Biden is the nominee. Let me see what the Democrats do,” Christie shot back, arguing he’s open to voting for anybody.

“This is not the time to sit it out, governor!” Hostin said.

Christie argued in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris picking a moderate Democrat like Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) to run with, declaring a Biden-Harris ticket “can’t win.”

Asked by Navarro if he’d vote for a Harris-Shapiro ticket, Christie stuck by his guns and said he was not willing to commit so early, especially to a binary choice.

“Don’t know. Let me see what they have to say,” he said.

After facing another wave of objections, Christie sarcastically said, “I’m sorry that I care for what people stand for. I apologize.”
