Spectacular stretch of sunny weather with lower humidity lasts through the weekend for New Jersey

A whole brand-new air mass is over New Jersey - low humidity, a cloudless sky and warm temperatures. This air came from Canada, and in addition to that, brought some wildfire smoke from fires that are burning over the Canadian Pacific Northwest region. This smoke is not mixing to the ground and will not affect air quality today, but it will create a thin haze or muted blue/gray in the upper atmosphere. There will be colorful sunrises and sunsets today, as evidenced by photos from last night. Two viewer photos, one from Maryanne in Scotch Plains, and Jeff Meyer from Annandale show how departing humidity created the pinks and reds where the hazy wildfire smoke created the orange and yellows. The weather for the weekend is exceptional. Highs near 85-90 with low humidity and lots of sunshine. The smoky haze clears for Saturday, returning the intense sunshine and bright blue sky. Sunday is great, too, with a sea breeze at Jersey Shore beaches, producing a nice fresh environment for beachgoers. There is also a low threat for rip currents, so go swim! Just do so safely near a lifeguard. There will be a chance for rain on Monday afternoon and next week looks to feature more chances for rain and clouds despite the hot temperatures. "
