Matan to Develop 2 MSF New Kent Logistics Center Near Richmond
NEW KENT COUNTY, VA. — Matan Cos. has purchased 185 acres east of Richmond for the development of New Kent Logistics Center, a 2 million-square-foot industrial park. JLL arranged the land sale on behalf of Matan Cos. Located at the intersection of I-64 and Emmaus Church Road in New Kent County, the property will span four buildings and be situated between the industrial markets of Richmond and Hampton Roads, the latter of which houses the Port of Virginia.

South Carolina man receives 10-month sentence for damaging property in New Kent, stealing items
A South Carolina man will spend ten months in jail for damaging property after trespassing on it. Shawn Lamarcus Chavious, 47, of the 2900 block of Oswald Drive, West Columbia, entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of misdemeanor trespassing to commit damage (originally breaking and entering), and misdemeanor petty larceny.

‘Home & Away’ winners
The Piankatank River Ladies’ Golf Association participated in a three-way “Home & Away” match play competition with teams from Indian Creek (Kilmarnock) and Viniterra (New Kent) golf clubs. Each club fielded six two-person teams and played a series of three matches at each of the home courses. In the final competition on Friday at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club, the Piankatank River team took first place overall in the competition with a total score of 34.5. The Viniterra ladies followed in second with 26.5 and Indian River ladies scored 20 points.
