A Public Employee was arrested on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 for an incident that occurred outside of City operations. NWS upgrades Elkhorn-Bennington-Blair tornado to EF-4
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The National Weather Service office in Omaha has revised the rating for one of the Arbor Day tornadoes that struck eastern Nebraska and western Iowa in late April. Specifically, the tornado that tracked from Elkhorn into Bennington and Blair was originally rated as an EF-3 tornado with maximum sustained winds of 165 mph. After a thorough review, the NWS has upgraded that rating to EF-4 with maximum sustained winds of 170 mph.
