Not only did it host, but the club won the team trophy with a score of 355 to defeat Spring Creek Golf Course, Deer Park, Edgewood Park Golf Club, Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Club, Pine Hills Golf Club, and Eastwood Golf Course. “We added the team element to the tournament five years ago to encourage more players from the area to play and in turn, continue to grow the tournament,” said IVMGC co-director Patrick Goy, who runs the event with Mason Kimberley. “The turnout was great again this year with 168 players. Things also went very smooth both days. We got very lucky with the weather on Sunday as the forecast didn’t look great at all, but the rain stayed away, and we were able to pull off another great tournament.” The Mendota Golf Club had many members in the tournament including, left to right, Goy, Taylor Joyce (won B Flight), Michael Reppin, Beau Fancher (won C Flight), Tony Milus, Chad Hochstatter (third place B Flight), Spark Larkin (won Senior Division), and Pat Kerchner.
