Two Gypsy jazz groups have played sold-out shows in the Berkshires over the last several months: The Django Festival All-Stars, and The Hot Club of New England. Police Blotter: Troop B
The following information was provided by the Connecticut State Police at Troop B. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. On Monday, May 20, at approximately 4:50 p.m., Lynn Mead, 48, of Ashley Falls, Massachusetts, walked into Troop B and was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant. The warrant related to an incident in North Canaan in August, 2023. The charge is larceny in the 6th degree. Mead was released on a $2,500 nonsurety bond.

15-year-old accused of killing man by setting upstate NY home on fire
A 15-year-old accused of killing a man by setting a home in New York's Hudson Valley on fire last week has been arrested, according to New York State Police. The teen, whose name was not released, was charged with second-degree murder and first-degree arson, both felonies, in connection with the Friday, June 7 incident, troopers said. The teen is accused of setting a fire at a residence on Route 9 in Livingston, Columbia County, which then killed Edmund W. Metz, 58, of Livingston. Metz died at the scene.
