Chick-fil-A is no longer America's best fast-food restaurant and the new winner is surprising

Chick-fil-A has been dethroned as America’s best fast-food restaurants and its replacement has surprised the public.

The award-winning chicken sandwich chain has taken the top spot on USA Today's 10 Best Readers Choice Awards for nine straight years but lost out on its reign this year.

It dropped to third place, giving way to a new underdog victor . Mexican-American chain Del Taco was voted the best fast-food chain of 2024.

The fast-food chain is primarily located in California but operates in several other states, including Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida , Georgia, Idaho, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah and Washington. Del Taco offers fan favorite menu items like burritos, tacos, french fries and milkshakes at affordable prices.

Second place on the list was awarded to KFC who is another outlier. Chick-fil-A is recognized for having excellent customer service, and ethically sourced food. Their national chain encourages people to eat more chicken, to combat the level of methane gas contributing to climate change.
