    ‘SNL’ Alum Alex Moffat & Kennedy McMann Are Having A ‘Brewmance’

    EXCLUSIVE: Saturday Night Live alum Alex Moffat and Nancy Drew ‘s Kennedy McMann are starring in the independent feature comedy Brewmance.

    The movie is the directorial debut of New Mexico native Keagan Karnes off a screenplay by Mary Haarmeyer and Stafford Douglas. Brewmance follows Amber, a headstrong brewery owner and Samuel, a slick marketing strategist, who clash over how to save her failing business. But as they stir up a plan to reinvent the brewery, they unexpectedly ferment their own love story.

    Also starring in Brewmance are Steven Ogg ( The Walking Dead ), Zoe Colletti ( Only Murders in the Building ), Jamey Maurice Clay ( Santa’s Cousin ), Caroline Kingsley ( The Violet Hour ), Kirk Roos
    ( Santa’s Cousin ) and Joel de la Fuenta ( Man in the High Castle ), plus many actors from New
    Mexico area, including Hannah Mosqueda and Jessica N. Jimenez.

    The Brass Teapot producer Kirk Roos produced with Ian Simon ( All the World Is Sleeping ), Ross Marks ( Walking with Herb ), Ardy B. Carlson, Rene Besson ( The Mechanic ”) and Moffat. Haarmeyer financed the movie and serves as EP. The pic was produced under Karnes’ Inspirado Films banner, and will be repped for sales and distribution by Heartstrings (HMC), led by CEO Roger Lindley.

    Brewmance is part of a recent wave of productions shooting in New Mexico, the total economic impact for the state this year crossing $1 billion. Recent lifts in tax credit for productions filming outside the Albuquerque and Santa Fe area from 5% to 10% last year have yielded a near 89% increase in production spend per New Mexico Film Office stats. Total economic impact includes direct production spending within the state, wages earned by cast and crew members, and indirect spending on hotels, restaurants, and countless other New Mexico businesses that support and benefit from the film industry.

    Moffat starred for six years on Saturday Night Live known for such impersonations as Eric Trump, Joe Biden, Joe Scarborough as well as personalities The Guy Who Just Bought a Boat and film critic Terry Fink. Moffat made his Broadway debut last year in Sandy Rustin’s The Cottage. He starred in season 2 of The Bear and is set for the upcoming Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey. His feature credits include 80 for Brady, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Ralph Breaks the Internet.

    McMann played Nancy Drew for 62 episodes on the CW series. Other TV credits include The Good Doctor, Tell Me Lies, and Law & Order: SVU.
