Sartell City Council Approves Adding 3 Police Officers
SARTELL (WJON News) -- The City of Sartell will be increasing its police force by three positions. At Monday's city council meeting the council approved the staff increase to 27 officers. Chief Silgjord made the request for the three additional positions stating there are times on late night shifts when they only have 1 officer on duty and there should be two officers on duty at all times.

St. Cloud’s New Business Improvement District Clears Initial Hurdle
(KNSI) — A new St. Cloud business improvement district cleared the first of two major hurdles Monday night. City council approved establishment of the zone, which would use a combination of fees paid by commercial property owners and pledged sponsorships for cleaning, security, and other beautification efforts. Apparent murder-suicide in Minnetonka claims two lives
Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Minnetonka last week, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. Minnetonka police have not released any statements about the incident, but medical examiner’s reports indicate Patricia A. Spitzmueller, 71, and Kenneth R. Spitzmueller, 76, both died from gunshot wounds in an apartment on the 12200 block of Minnetonka Boulevard on Thursday evening.
Overnight I-90 Detour Starts Wednesday in Southeast Minnesota
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News)- A detour associated with one of two massive projects along I-90 in southeast Minnesota is set to begin this week. MnDOT is overseeing a pair of transformative projects that began this year along the interstate. Minn. man pleads guilty in armed robbery case
BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) - A Minnesota man pleaded guilty Friday in the armed robbery and assault of an elderly man in Barron in December. Court documents show that on July 19, 33-year-old Ryan Charpentier of Little Canada, Minn., pleaded guilty to armed robbery as party to a crime with an increased penalty for an elder person victim. Charpentier was charged as one of two suspects in the armed robbery and assault of an elderly man in Barron, Wis., on Dec. 19, 2023.
