Opening in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida and between waves of COVID-19 , the popular Saint John restaurant on Decatur Street in the French Quarter has closed and is moving to a new location. Co-owner Eric Cook recently told What Now New Orleans in a statement that the move will allow Saint John to become closer to its original vision.

“Saint John has the capability to be really great,” he said. “We know we have an excellent menu, cool vibe and great service. We just need a location where we can thrive, both inside and out. Our dream is to have a larger space in a more accessible part of the city. So now we’re working hard to make that dream come true as soon as possible.”

In a post on Instagram , the Creole restaurant announced it would be closed throughout the summer, and a representative said that the new location would be announced in the coming weeks. The post also thanked all of Saint John’s customers for their support, adding that there would be an effort to bring back all of the current staff to the new location.
