‘Witchy’ East Asian Restaurant Coming to Bourbon Street

They say there’s no soul on Bourbon Street , but lost souls may have a new home with the planned opening of Tatlo , an East Asian restaurant infused with witchcraft. According to Eater New Orleans , established local chefs Cristina Quackenbush , Anh Luu , and Hayley Vanvleet are currently converting the former Belle Epoque , an extension of the Old Absinthe House at 240 Bourbon St. The new bar and restaurant will draw from Filipino and Vietnamese culinary influences, while conceptually drawing from witchcraft to provide a cross-cultural and mystical experience. Combining Western mysticism and Eastern flavors, Tatlo sounds like one of those restaurant concepts that only make sense in the context of the French Quarter , where voodoo stores and Vietnamese restaurants happily coexist.

Quackenbush has been running the successful Filipino pop-up Milkfish and is a practitioner of witchcraft, ostensibly making her the driving force behind Tatlo. She told Eater that the restaurant will provide an immersive experience that incorporates everything from the cycle of the moon to the colors of the candles placed on each of the tables. An opening date is set for late summer or early fall. What Now New Orleans has reached out for comment.
